The role of the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) UK is to uphold data/information rights and protections, as a matter of public interest, and ensure relevant legal acts and regulations around privacy and data access and storage are complied with. Bay Psychology upholds GDPR principles, as set out in the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018 and ICO Code of Practice.
Managing Director Lianne Anderson CPsychol AFBPsS is the data controller for Bay Psychology (including Bay Psychology Online) and is registered with the ICO, as can be seen on their public register. You can, therefore, be assured that your personal data, and sensitive information, will be stored safely and kept confidential.
Safeguarding exception: All HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologists offering confidential services adhere to the risk principle. This refers to situations where a client's personal information may be shared with a limited number of other parties/agencies on a need to know basis in situations where there is an identified risk of harm to the client, or another person, and that non-disclosure would exacerbate this e.g. disclosure of abuse by/upon an identified or identifiable person or threat to life. These instances are rare but will be handled sensitively, in the client's best interests. We would aim to inform you, where possible, if confidentiality had to be limited for safeguarding purposes.
