Most People struggle with psychological or emotional problems at some point in their lives. Our aim is to help you to overcome whatever challenges you are facing, whether this is helping you to re-focus on life goals, manage current difficulties or process and address the impact of past events.
We are highly skilled and experienced in offering effective, discrete and non-judgemental personal psychological therapy. Bay Psychology can offer a wide range of services but we have particular expertise and specialism in trauma and complex trauma, including working with sexual abuse survivors of all genders.
We provide advice and support to individuals, carers, families and couples as well as expert training, supervision and consultancy to professionals.
Our Treatment Focus
Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a confidential, safe space, listening to your concerns and customizing a therapy plan while using evidence-based psychological approaches. We are trained in a range of therapeutic models such as: Schema Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy & Integrated Approaches. We will soon also be offering EMDR.
What Makes Us Different?
We have British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited and chartered doctoral level training and Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Practitioner Psychologist registration.
Many people do not realise that terms such as ''counsellor'', ''psychotherapist'' and ''psychologist'' are not protected, which unfortunately means people who do not have any specific therapy training can legally operate using these titles.
Always check who the therapist's regulatory body is. For example, see if a Counsellor is a member of BACP and check that a Psychologist is registered online with the HCPC (a legal requirement for those with ''Practitioner Psychologist'' status).
Bay Psychology's Managing Director is Lianne Anderson, a Chartered and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society who is HCPC registered. A Consultant Psychologist, with 25 years of experience, she is also fully insured and listed as a data controller with the ICO, an important privacy safeguard.
